Established in 1948, the firm initially served the New York, New Jersey and Connecticut area, selling mainly capacitors. The company was incorporated in 1958 under the guidance of Abe Slivka – and it has been in the family ever since.
Today, New Yorker Electronics is an international AS9120B and ISO 9001:2015 certified source of capacitors, resistors, semiconductors, connectors, filters, inductors, embedded solutions, power management, electromechanical devices and more. It operates entirely at heightened military and aerospace performance levels and works with the DoD, DoJ, Navy and various other industry leaders such as Lockheed Martin, GE, Honeywell, General Dynamics and BAE Systems. It is a certified franchise distributor for nearly 100 manufacturers including Vishay, Exxelia and Cornell Dubilier Electronics.
New Yorker Electronics also functions in strict accordance with AS5553 and AS6496 standards — verifying that it has implemented industry standards into everyday practices to thwart the proliferation of counterfeit parts. It is a member of ECIA (Electronics Component Industry Association) and of ERAI (Electronic Resellers Association International).
